We exclusively treat CMD system disorders.
Many complaints, one common cause.
We treat people with many complaints whose cause has not been found.
Years of headaches. And other things too.
Everything checked, nothing found. Is it all connected?
Are your complaints real?
Even if nobody has found the cause so far. We look for it with measurements instead of assumptions – where the medical specialties meet and where, for that very reason, hardly anyone looks: in the jaw system.
The people who come to us have several things wrong at the same time, and every single investigation has come back without findings. The 2-minute self-test tells you whether this could apply to you.
What we do
We look where the specialties meet, and we address the cause rather than the symptom – in the spirit of CMD Systems Medicine and as an interdisciplinary team under one roof: dentistry, physiotherapy, osteopathy, dental hygiene & dental technology.
The people who come to us have several things wrong at once – head, ear, neck, sleep, energy – and every single investigation has come back without findings.
We examine whether these complaints share a common source in the jaw system.
Are these the symptoms that are troubling you?
These complaints seem unrelated – but they often have one common source.
Migraine-like headaches
Morning headaches, pressure at the temples, pressure behind the eyes.

Find out more →And they rarely stay confined to the body: persistent complaints wear down your strength, cause anxiety and, over time, weigh on every area of life – work, family, social contacts and personal goals.
CMD — one cause, many symptoms
Through muscles and nerves, the jaw system is connected to the body's entire posture – from head to toe. A misalignment carries on like a chain: through the head, ear and neck down into the spine, pelvis and feet – which is why it often hurts where the cause is not.
Headaches do not always start in the head.
Neck pain does not always start in the neck.
Tinnitus does not always start in the ear.
Dizziness does not always start in the organ of balance.
That is why we do not look at symptoms alone. We look at connections.
Perhaps you have heard it too often: “There's nothing there.”
Many of our patients carry years of searching behind them: examinations without findings, medication that only dampens the symptom, and the feeling that nobody is really listening. Over time the complaints weigh on every area of life – work, family, social contacts and your own goals.
With us it starts differently – with the question: what is really behind it? This is no criticism of your previous doctors and therapists: CMD easily slips through the net of the individual specialties. We do not treat the symptom; we look at the interplay as a whole – as a complement, not as competition. We work closely with a network of specialist disciplines.
Get clarity Find out more about CMDDoes this sound familiar?
- Changing complaints that no single specialty can explain
- Findings that are “unremarkable” – even though you feel unwell
- “It's psychological.” or “Stress is to blame.”
- “You'll have to live with it.” – without anyone looking for the cause
- Sent from doctor to doctor – nobody sees the whole picture
- The feeling that nobody really listens to you or understands you
- Painkillers that never get to the root
- Treatments whose promises and hopes were not fulfilled
Then you are probably in the right place.
“There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root.”Henry David Thoreau, Walden
Your path to clarity – step by step
CMD strategy consultation
A phone call in which we listen and place your complaints in context. Without obligation.
Initial examination
At a first appointment we establish with certainty whether your symptoms are due to CMD.
We draw up your individual plan
We discuss your findings and how to proceed.
CMD System Therapy
A system that has lost its rhythm cannot be bent back into shape – it has to settle anew. We guide it there in small steps and check after each one whether it was the right direction. No step alters healthy tooth structure.
For information and for referrals
Do you look after patients with unclear or treatment-resistant complaints in whom the jaw system could play a role? We have a separate section for you.
It explains what CMD Systems Medicine is and how we work: when a CMD assessment makes sense, broken down by specialty, what we measure and with what, which findings you receive back – and how we handle the evidence, including the points where the data are inconsistent.
If you would like to refer someone afterwards, you will find the route there as well.
In brief
- Do cervical spine and shoulder complaints return after every treatment?
- Tinnitus, ear pressure or dizziness without an otological correlate?
- Headache that does not respond to the usual therapy?
- Bruxism that repeatedly damages restorations?
- Complaints that appeared for the first time after dental treatment?
- A patient with a long “nothing was ever found” history?

Frequently asked questions
The most important questions from our patients – answered briefly.
What is CMD – and what is CMS?
CMS stands for the craniomandibular system: the interplay of the skull, the jaw joints, the teeth and the muscles involved. That is the part of the body we are concerned with.
CMD stands for craniomandibular dysfunction – the state in which this system does not work properly: a reflex, nerve-driven misregulation. Because the CMS is connected to the whole body, such a misregulation can trigger complaints far away from the jaw. In English-speaking countries the condition is often called TMD (temporomandibular disorder).
In short: the CMS is the system, CMD is its dysfunction. We treat systems that do not work properly. Explained in detail →
What does CMD Systems Medicine mean?
Systems medicine means: the body is not a kit of separate parts but a system that constantly readjusts itself – posture, tension, balance. CMD Systems Medicine takes this view and puts the jaw system at the centre, because regulation can be reached there without altering healthy tooth structure. CMD System Therapy then guides the system that has lost its rhythm back in small, controlled steps – instead of forcing a target position mechanically. How we proceed →
Can my head, neck or jaw pain, tinnitus & similar complaints really come from the jaw?
Yes, often. The jaw system is closely linked to the head, ear, neck and spine through muscles and nerves. A misregulation spreads along this chain – which is why it often hurts where the cause is not. Understand the connection →
How can I tell whether I am affected?
What is typical is a combination of several complaints without clear findings. Our 2-minute self-test gives you a first, personal orientation – straight away.
I have already seen many doctors – why has nobody found anything so far?
This is almost never due to a lack of competence on the part of those treating you – each specialty carefully examines its own area. CMD, however, acts across several systems at once and so easily slips through the net of the individual disciplines. We look at the interplay as a whole – as a complement to those who have treated you so far, not as competition. Why this is so →
I am already taking medication or receiving psychosomatic treatment – is CMD still relevant?
Especially then. Many people affected receive painkillers or psychotropic drugs, or psychosomatic treatment, for years, because nobody found a physical cause. Often, however, the emotional burden is the consequence of a genuine misregulation in the jaw system (somatopsychic) – not its cause. When function is regulated, body and mind often settle down together. More on this →
I am afraid that a serious, undetected illness is behind it – is this worry justified?
Very many people affected share this fear – it is part of the emotional burden, and we take it seriously. Complaints such as persistent dizziness, tinnitus or pain should be investigated by a specialist to rule out serious causes. If this has happened repeatedly without findings, a functional misregulation of the jaw system (CMD) is a common, benign and readily treatable explanation. Our CMD System Check places your complaints thoroughly in context – and for many, the mere certainty of having a tangible cause takes away the fear. More on this →
How does the examination work?
It begins with an appointment to examine the craniomandibular system. Its question is exactly one: is there a dysfunction – that is, CMD?
This first appointment includes the conversation, your medical history and the examination itself. Only afterwards can we say whether and how to proceed. Further appointments follow from the findings, not from a scheme. Step by step →
Does the treatment hurt? Is there drilling or X-rays?
No. We work with minimal contact – a 3D scan instead of impressions, no drilling, no X-rays.
Does CMD affect children too?
Yes. During growth in particular, a great deal can be accompanied early and gently – often without extracting teeth. For parents we have a separate section with a CMD check for children. For parents & children →
Do I need a referral?
No, you can contact us directly. Healthcare professionals can also refer patients to us easily. For professionals →
