Medicine is divided into specialties, and for good reason: specialisation has made it strong. For most illnesses that is the right order.
For some people it is the wrong one. Anyone with headaches, tinnitus, neck complaints and poor sleep is examined four times and told four times that nothing can be found in that specialty. All four answers are correct. The question was simply asked the wrong way.
CMD Systems Medicine is an attempt to overcome this division at one point where it is worthwhile: the jaw system. Not because everything originates there, but because it is connected to all four areas and because it is possible to measure and intervene there without destroying anything.

Bite position, muscle activity, movement and posture are measured, not estimated. This happens in two stages with an interim evaluation. That way we make sure nobody pays for measurements that bring no further benefit.

What this discipline is not
Not a replacement
- Acute warning signs and unclear findings belong in a specialist medical assessment before any functional diagnostics takes place.
- We do not question any other specialty’s diagnosis
- Physiotherapy, ENT, neurology and orthopaedics remain responsible; we work with them, not against them
Not alternative medicine
- We measure with instruments and calculate with numbers
- We work within the recognised medical framework: CMD has many different physical and psychological causes. Treatment is first and foremost gentle and without surgery.
- Where our clinical experience goes beyond the current evidence, we point this out openly.
Important for context: a new discipline is not yet a recognised discipline. CMD Systems Medicine is not a specialist title held by a professional society. Rather, the term describes our specific way of working and claims no official title.
So that you hear it from us
Facts instead of false promises
There is clear scientific evidence for the connection between the jaw system and the head, face and neck – treating the neck as well is standard practice here. For the link to the spine, pelvis and foot posture the data are inconsistent, as they are for ear complaints. What we say about this is based on our many years of clinical observation, not on conclusively proven causes.
