Accompanying growth – not just straightening teeth

We do not treat “crooked teeth” as an end in themselves. We support the function of the jaw system so that it can develop healthily. Straight teeth are then the result – not the goal. And this usually succeeds without extracting teeth.

Function first

Nasal breathing, tongue position, chewing, muscular balance – function determines form.

Guiding growth

During growth we create room and direction, instead of removing teeth later.

Sparing of tooth structure

We start with removable appliances. Nothing is altered on healthy tooth structure.

What we work with

Functional appliances – matched to the child

Which appliance is used depends on the findings, age and function – not on a catalogue. Phases are often combined.

Functional, removable appliances

Guide growth, widen the jaw, train breathing and tongue position. Removable – the child's cooperation counts.

Fine position correction

Where necessary, a targeted fine correction of individual teeth – always in the service of function, not purely of appearance.

Habit-breaking aids

Support in stopping mouth breathing, thumb sucking or tongue thrusting – often the most effective lever.

Stabilisation (retention)

At the end we hold the result so that the function and position gained are maintained.

Step by step

How the guidance works

CMD strategy consultation

We listen, place the complaints in context and tell you honestly whether a functional connection is likely.

Functional diagnostics

3D scan, functional and postural findings, breathing – a picture of the whole jaw system, not just the teeth.

A clear plan & description of services

Goal, appliances and duration of the next step – transparent.

Accompanied phase

Gentle appliances, regular check-ups, adaptation to growth – over months, calmly.

Stabilising & follow-up

Securing the result and keeping an eye on further development.

Your role as parents

Support in everyday life

Functional appliances work above all when they are worn consistently – your support is a real factor in their effect.

  • keep an eye on the wearing times of the removable appliances
  • watch out for nasal breathing, encourage keeping the mouth closed
  • thorough dental care, clean the appliances daily
  • attend check-up appointments reliably

Motivation keeps it going

Guidance takes its time. Praise consistent wearing, make the routine easy – and celebrate progress together.

If there are problems or reluctance: it is better to let the practice know early. There is almost always a solution.

The first step

Clarity begins with a conversation
